Dave McCallam

'The impact of Managed Learning Environments on attainment and achievement' Workshop Facilitator

David has a varied experience in the education sector. During his career with the Royal Navy he taught Electronics and Mechanical Engineering to Naval Artificers and since leaving in 1991 has taught in secondary schools, designed and developed a City Learning Centre and worked as a content developer for use within Virtual Learning Environment’s and Learning Management Systems.

During this time he supported schools and colleges worldwide to help educators understand the potential of online systems and to apply them effectively within an education setting. From 2001 to 2005 David was part of the Excellence in Cities team in Hull and in particular developed ICT systems and innovative solutions with ICT to help raise attainment in Hull, which recently exceeded all expectations and targets.

During this time he played a major role in the strategic implementation of ICT and ICT systems in schools and in the planning stages for BSF. and in particular leading the Creative and Media specialist diploma sub group.

David joined Transform Schools to work closely with bid teams and to advise on the relationship between design, ICT and the transformational schools agenda.
